Hello Mission Friends April
11, 2009

Hope all is well with everyone. Friends God is good. It's been
about 6 weeks since our return. Despite the delay of our 2nd groups return
home, things went well. My wife is doing very well. I thank God for her
desire to stay with the team even though she was banged up pretty bad. She's
tough and wanted to stay with me and finish the trip. God did give her a
blessing at Tikal, seeing things she only dreamed about.

Well let me update you about the trip. I thank all of you for
your dedication and your desire to serve God; we got a lot of work done.
Thanks also to those of you family members who had to send part of your
family to an unknown area. Those of you who helped finance this project are
very special and I want to thank you also. There is just so much involved in
these projects that only God knows.

Everyone stayed healthy, happy and energetic. It made my job go
so much easier. On the construction side much was done. Lots of tile set,
Septic system installed plumbing, wiring, painting walls built, trenches dug
and much more.

The medical and dental team treated over 3250 people. Over 1000
eyeglasses were passed out. So many people blessed not only the folks at
Machaquilla but all of us. So many stories to tell, many experiences to
share. Having the Bible workers preparing the area before our arrival was a
real blessing. Pastor Jon was touched by the Holy Spirit as he delivered his
message each night. Thanks also to Pastor Rigo for translating the message
as God would have it heard. Hundreds of people came including 35 people
transported by bus each night that the Bible workers were working with.

Children's program directed by Kim Beisiegel went really well.
Standing room only! It was hard to keep the kids quiet because of all the
things they never seen before. Such as a state of the art puppet program,
story telling, etc.

25 people have been baptized, 6 of them children from our V.B.S.
program. There is so much to tell. Please check out my wife's newsletters on
our website for a blow by blow, day by day explanation of the work in
Guatemala.

The special trip to the orphanage and academy was a real treat.
Providing sports equipment for both, a special puppet show for the orphanage
and some cash for sports update at the academy. Who can forget the chat
America, America over and over again after the presentation to the academy?

Last but not least the fun days going to the swimming hole,
jumping off the falls, hiking the trails, the bird watch that several went
on, the shopping trips to the souvenir shop and downtown Poptun, and of
course our excursion to Tikal.

So many memories so many faces to remember, the Myan villages
where people still live the way they did hundreds of years ago remind me of
how much work needs to be done. But don't be fooled time is short, God is
making things happen quickly.

Thanks again to all of you. Those of you who would still like to
help with the expenses of this trip please do so. As you know we ran into
several expenses we did not budget for.

One request that's been on my mind is a need for someone who
could help with year round fundraising. Berkshire Mission only receives
money when I schedule a mission trip. It is getting harder and harder to
raise funds as you could imagine. God has been good to us but it is very
hard for me to solicit funds. Although many of you have been so faithful it
would be nice if we could get someone who could raise funds on a regular
basis for Berkshire Mission. It would make things so much easier for me and
allow me to spend more time on the mission itself. I know thru experience
that there are so many faithful people who would like to donate money for
Bibles, literature, medicine, tools, Bible workers, construction materials
etc. I just need someone to organize, write letters and raise money. If God
moves you to help please let me know.

Remember Next year Pastor Rigo from Guanaja Honduras made an
appeal to us to help with several projects on the island. Also Maranatha
will start work in southern Mexico early next year. Please let me know your
thoughts. We did already put a deposit on for Mexico because sites there go
very quickly, but I will have to make a decision soon. Last time I asked for
your thoughts I received zero emails. That leaves the decision to me. Help
Help.

I will close with the quote from Jennifer's newsletter #11. "To
you Americans, can you hear and see in your minds the chanting America!
America! America! And stand a little taller? To all you Christians of
whatever country, can you also hear and see in your soul Jesus standing at
the finish line cheering you on? You are almost there, hold on and give it
that final push now. He is waving you on. waiting with arms opened wide for
you, and with every breath he chants your name! Go ye therefore and teach
all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Ghost; teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have
commanded you; and lo I am with you always even unto the end of the world.
Amen" Mathew 28: 19-20

God Bless you all!

Sincerely

Bob Young
