From missionlist at berkshiremission.org Tue May 20 19:21:32 2008 From: missionlist at berkshiremission.org (Berkshire Mission) Date: Tue, 20 May 2008 19:21:32 -0400 Subject: [News] May 18th 2008 Message-ID: Hello Friends May 18, 2008 Well here it is just over 9 weeks since our return. I would pray that each one of you is well rested. My first thought would be to say Mission to Los Alamos is over but when you think about it, it has just begun. The church members now have a new church. This week Louis said that they are electing officers to their church. He said that they are having Bible studies with those who were baptized and those who are preparing for Baptism. They still have lots of work to do. We have also been blessed by the memories of our work. Just to think back at the medical team seeing over twelve hundred people. The Dental team seeing over 250 people, the eyeglass clinic giving out a record 875 eye glasses. I can't help remembering how God has provided in so many special ways, from the customs officials, the health official, the Mayor, the bus drivers, Marcos the van driver, the Dental van driver, the school principal, church members and friends to many to mention, the faces of the people in line to be seen by the medical team. Those 24 people who stood, some with tears in their eyes as they accepted Jesus as their saviour! The young children on Friday night with their eyes wide open as Kim told them the story of Noah and who could forget our friends from the University. I think of the several times that Jennifer told the Mayor and Marcos and several others that today is the day of Salvation. Choose you this day who you will serve and then their positive response. I guess I could go on and on. I am sure that each one of you could share story after story. I had asked you if there was a testimony or even a story that you could share that you could share, please send it on to me ASAP. I would like to thank again those of you who took time from your responsibilities at home or work to make time this trip what it was. Those of you who sent money to support this mission, the people all over the country and even some around the world that prayed for Gods will to be done. Thanks to all. We have reached our financial goal. Thanks to many who donated. Now it is time to move on. Maranatha will not be in Mexico as they told us by the beginning of 2009. They will start work there the latter part of 2009 and into 2010. I will be working on our next trip. Some options are Africa, India, both very expensive, the Island of Guanaja and several other places. Let me know your thoughts ASAP. I must tell you its getting harder and harder to raise money for these trips; some of you have already sent small donations to Berkshire Mission since we have returned. I would like to ask you all if you could start pledging now, sending in a pledge each month so we are ready to do Gods work. Some may want to make a onetime donation, some whenever they can. That's Okay. But lets start now. Please help, I have already started my pledge, follow me with your donations and see how God will provide. We will see you all soon. God Bless each one of you. More news soon! Sincerely Bob Young M.D. P.s Just received 2 emails from Chile one from Rodrigo Ramos one of the Directors of the University and I will quote "God bless you and your people for this blessed work you do around the world. The students are really happy for having been part of this missionary event. Let me share something with you. Now our Sabbath school got bigger and for this reason we have divided into classes, little by little students are getting hooked with the idea of knowing God through the Sabbath school (English Version). There the Bibles that you gave us are being an important instrument to show Jesus to all in need of being loved by the one who gave ll his life. Thanks Again." The second one from Maria one of the translators and I quote " we have very good grades at school I think we have improved a lot being with you last summer, but above all we learned a lot about spiritual issues, responsibility, coordination and missionary work. We really hope in God to have a new opportunity to participate in this beautiful field again. Also our wedding date had to be changed to July 27th 2008. Please send me your testimonies or stories that we can share with others. God Bless -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
